The big picture
What actually is Supermoo? Is it a fitness app?
It's a movement app, not a fitness app. There's a difference. Supermoo doesn't track workouts, count steps, grade your performance, or tell you what to eat. It just notices when you've been still for a while and sends a gentle nudge - from a cow named Moo - to get up and move for sixty seconds. No score. No dashboard. No account. Just the nudge.
Is there actual science behind this? Why does it matter?
Yes, and it's genuinely surprising. Prolonged sitting - even in people who exercise regularly - has its own effects on your energy, circulation, and how your body processes what you eat. Research shows that breaking up sitting with just a couple of minutes of light movement every hour or two helps your body function more like it's supposed to throughout the day. Moo is built around interrupting that pattern. Key studies: Biswas et al., Annals of Internal Medicine 2015; Dunstan et al., Diabetes Care 2012; Hamilton et al., Diabetes 2007.
Do I need to work out or be active already for this to matter?
No (and this is the part most people find surprising. If you exercise regularly, Moo fills in the gaps during the hours you're sitting afterward. If you don't exercise at all, hourly movement is genuinely its own starting point: it's a separate mechanism from fitness, not a substitute for it, but meaningful on its own. Supermoo works for both. There's no baseline fitness level required and no judgment either way.
I already have a Whoop / Garmin / Apple Watch. Why do I need this?
Trackers measure. Moo nudges. They're doing different things. Your wearable can tell you that you sat for three hours - Moo is the thing that actually interrupted it before it happened. Most trackers don't send reminders calibrated to break up sitting specifically, and even the ones that do tend to bury it in dashboards. Moo is just the nudge, with a cow attached, with no other agenda.
Who is Dracu-Moo, and do I have to deal with him?
Dracu-Moo is a vampire cow who lives on the moon, maintains a chalkboard with plans to keep you sedentary, and occasionally sends passive-aggressive transmissions when you haven't moved. He is optional but recommended - you can turn off his notifications in Settings and keep things purely Moo-flavored. He's also the only cow in recorded history to have voluntarily become sedentary, which he considers an achievement. It is not.
Notifications & reminders
My reminders aren't firing. What's wrong?
First, check that notifications are enabled for Supermoo in your phone settings. On iOS go to Settings > Supermoo > Notifications. On Android, long-press the app icon and tap App info > Notifications. Make sure they're on. Then open the app, go to the Reminders screen, and tap any setting to trigger a reschedule. That clears old reminders and sets fresh ones.
How do I change when reminders arrive?
Open the app and tap the bell icon to open Reminders. You can pick how many moos a day (1 to 9), which days they fire, and set quiet hours. Premium unlocks fully custom schedules and lets you tune each moo individually.
Can I change the notification sound?
Yes. Open Settings in the app and pick from Dance (the default - a 26-second moo dance loop), Classic, Gentle, or Deep. On iOS this swaps the bundled sound. On Android, each sound corresponds to a notification channel that you can also tweak in your system settings if you want.
Why didn't my reminder fire today?
A few possibilities: you've already hit your daily goal (smart skip), the system put your phone in Do Not Disturb or Focus mode, you have a quiet hour set, or you force-quit the app recently. iOS sometimes throttles apps that don't get opened often, so opening Supermoo every few days keeps your schedule healthy.
Apple Watch
How do I get the watch app?
If you have an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, the Supermoo watch app installs automatically when you install Supermoo on your iPhone. Open the Watch app on your phone, scroll down to Available Apps, find Supermoo, and tap Install if it isn't already on your wrist.
My watch and phone show different move counts.
They sync over Bluetooth via Apple's WatchConnectivity. If they're out of sync, open Supermoo on both devices once and they'll catch up. Make sure your watch is paired and within range of your phone.
How do I add Moo to my watch face?
Long-press your watch face and tap Edit. Swipe to Complications and tap an empty slot. Scroll until you find Supermoo, then tap to select. Moo now sits on your watch face showing your move count at a glance.
How do I turn off watch sounds?
There's a small speaker icon in the top left corner of the watch app. Tap it to toggle sound on or off. Haptics still fire either way. Watch silent mode also suppresses the sounds automatically.
Does Supermoo log to Apple Health?
Yes. Each move you complete on the watch logs 4 active calories and 1 exercise minute to your Health app. You can grant or revoke this permission in iOS Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Supermoo. The app works fine if you decline.
Premium & subscriptions
I upgraded to premium but the features are still locked.
Tap Restore purchases on the upgrade screen. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with, then restore again. If it still doesn't work, email us with your receipt and we'll sort it manually.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. On iOS go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. On Android open the Google Play app and tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. You'll keep premium access until the end of your billing period.
What's the difference between Annual and Lifetime?
Annual renews each year. Lifetime is a one-time payment and you have premium forever, no renewals. Both unlock the same features. We honor refunds through Apple's and Google's normal refund flow.
Why charge for premium at all?
Reweave is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and we keep the core loop free for everyone. Premium funds the work, including learning experiences for young people. Every subscription is a small donation. Donate directly if you'd rather support that way.
Streaks & data
I lost my streak. Can you restore it?
Streaks and move history are stored only on your device. We don't have a copy and can't restore them remotely. If you deleted and reinstalled the app, that data is gone. We know that's frustrating and we're sorry. I believe in you. Start fresh.
Does Supermoo work without an account?
Yes. There is no account, login, name, or email. Your move history lives only on your phone (or Apple Watch - they sync locally). That also means data doesn't sync between iPhone and Android, which we know is a tradeoff some folks would like solved. It's on the roadmap.
What data does Supermoo collect?
Nothing personal. Your move history and settings live only on your device. We don't have access to them. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Platforms, widgets & the song
Does Supermoo work on Android?
Yes. Free on both iOS and Android, with native widgets on each. The full feature set is the same. App Store · Google Play.
How do I add the home screen widget?
On iOS, long-press your home screen and tap the +, search Supermoo, pick a size, and add it. On Android, long-press your home screen, tap Widgets, scroll to Supermoo, and drag the size you want. Widgets update as you log moos.
What is the dance song? Is that really Moo?
Yes. There is a song. It plays during Dance moves. It is unreasonably catchy and we apologize for nothing. You can preview it on the homepage.
Why does Moo go dark sometimes?
If you go too long without moving, my evil twin takes over. There are stages. They escalate. Move enough and the regular me comes back. This is intentional. It's also entirely cosmetic and won't punish you in any meaningful way.
